• Modeling and Repair
• Create or acquire a model using CAD, export to STL/OBJ/3MF; use repair tools to check and repair holes, self-intersections, and normal errors.
• Slicing and Parameter Settings (using FDM as an example)
• Layer Height: Fine balance recommended 0.10–0.20 mm; Ultra-precision 0.05–0.08 mm; Rapid prototyping ≥0.30 mm.
• Speed: Outer wall 30–60 mm/s, internal infill 80–120 mm/s.
• Support Density: Generally 10%–20%, adjusted according to droop and complexity.
• Infill Density: Functional prototypes 15%–30%; Structural parts 20%–50%; 100% solid.
• Temperature: Nozzle (PLA 190–220°C; PETG 230–250°C); Hot bed (PLA 50–60°C; PETG 70–85°C).
• Equipment Preparation
• Material Drying: Nylon, PETG, TPU, etc., are sensitive to humidity; PLA 40°C, PETG 65°C drying for 4–8 hours is recommended.
• Platform Leveling: Manually level the nozzle-platform gap to approximately 0.1 mm (A4 paper thickness), or use automatic leveling.
• Printing Execution and Monitoring
• First Layer is Crucial: Observe adhesion/extrusion/filamentation; if necessary, reduce the first layer speed to 15–30 mm/s and correct deviations immediately.
• Process Inspection: Pay attention to misalignment, layer breaks, support failure, surface degradation, etc.; pause immediately if abnormalities occur.
• Post-processing
• FDM: After cooling, remove the part, remove supports, sand/bond/color, etc.
• UV Curing: Clean uncured resin and perform UV post-curing to the target strength.
The above processes, parameters, and precautions can significantly improve success rate and consistency.
